Ismael demands order within the pack and feels most comfortable when he is aware of everything happening. But he not a wolf to place a great deal of importance on specific ranks unless he feels it will be of use to him. Therefore, wolves of the Crandell pack are sorted into only a handful of

Alpha: (1/2) For now, that title belongs to Ismael. The Alpha heads the pack and controls all of the happenings within the territory. There is, obviously, no higher position and for the time being, Ismael prefers to hold the title to himself, without a partner. This may or may not change.
Betas: (0/3) Two or three wolves whom Ismael usually trusts more than other members of the pack. They assist him in matters such as hunting and keeping the pack members happy and healthy. The Betas are usually given tasks that involve some degree of independence such as tracking down food or other wolves, handling pack members when the Alpha is away, or deal with intruders.
Special Guards: Wolves who Ismael feels would be best suited for protecting the pack. These wolves are typically large but are often chosen for many reasons by their Alpha. At times, these wolves may be asked to travel with Ismael when he is called away from the territory.
Scouts: Wolves who are chosen for their abilities as scouts. These wolves work away from the pack most of the time and are called whenever Beta wolves need a set of fast feet to help them locate things. They may also be asked to leave away from the territory to search for things if Ismael feels they can do so.
Subordinates: This is the group that many of the pack members fall into. These wolves have not been given any other special rank and are simply members of the Crandell pack. They do not rank above anyone but the omega.
Juveniles, parents, and cubs: These wolves are special cases and are given immunity from many of the rules enforced on other members. Mother and fathers may take meat to their lair for their cubs, for example, and do not have to partake in hunts. Mothers are exempt from pack meetings. Juveniles (any member who has not aged one year) is not punished severely for crimes; their parents are. Cubs, obviously, are of dire importance to the pack and their needs are often put above the needs of others.
Omega: A wolf who has disgraced himself or his pack. If Ismael does not banish this wolf then they are forced to be an omega. The omega eats last or not at all and is often beaten and bullied by other pack members.
