The large paws of a bulky female wolf dug deeper into the icy cold snow, clawing at the white crystals and pulling herself up with ease. Her silver fur was fluffed against the breeze, white underbelly blending with the ground and the black fur of her spine and tail sticking out against it. Her amber eyes scanned the world around her, shredded ears providing no real support for her. They were torn beyond recognition, damaged by a fox when she was young. However, she relied on her sight and smell, as well as her magic: force fields.
Braelyn sighed, breath revealed in a puff of mist, pink nose cold and dipping mucus. She sneezed, the force pushing her back a few inches. She was stop the Many Glacier. She had previously been hunting, but there would be nothing up where she was. It was too cold and wouldn't provide enough of the essential things for any living creature to keep its life upon them. The glaciers were beautiful, but deadly, as many things were. She gave herself a shake and continued to walk, soon making it to the ridge of the miniature mountain range.
Braelyn turned her head and gazed out upon her new territory, taking in all of the small features and details about it. As a warrior of Glacier Pack, she had a feeling she needed to know the lines and parts of the territory she could now call home. She wanted to do well, despite her disability. She was very large for a female wolf and was raised to fight, since hunting was much out of the question because of her shredded ears. She couldn't hear well, but she certainly wasn't deaf. She remembered when she met Skoldpadda, remembered how it took several minutes for her to hear his words. She had been asleep, if course, but in her eyes, it was still a weakness.
She felt, that as a warrior, it would be best to know everything about the territory, for she would be one to defend it. She padded through the snow and over to a rock jutting from the white plain, taking shelter in the crack of the stone. It stopped the wind and warmed her considerably, despite the snow wetting her pelt as she laid down. Resting her head on her paws, she closed her eyes and sent up a small force field, wondering if she would have company.

In fact, in the time that she had been living on the pack lands – longer than any of the alphas that had been here and longer than any of the current members. Why anyone would want to come here, she wasn’t sure, but it was a part of the pack’s territory and she made it a point to visit as much of the territory as she could as often as she could. She had not been to the glacier in several weeks, and she knew that it was time for her to visit it again. So, despite the snow that seemed to be here even well into spring, she had traveled from Apgar valley after her chat with Skoldpadda and had come to the glacier, expecting to, as usual, find no one around. Not even prey chose to come here at this time of year, when they could go to warmer places with better food.
She was surprised when she found the footprints in the snow. A single glance told her that they belonged to a wolf, but she couldn’t decide if it was male or female or if the tracks belonged to a member of the pack or a loner. Unfortunately, Myu rarely had the good fortune of meeting new pack members – if there were any at all. From her own experience, new pack members were few and far between when the leadership changed so often. All that she knew was that the wolf who had made the tracks was larger than she was. Compared to the tracks that she left behind, they were deeper.
Curious, Myu follow the tracks up the glacier. The cold and the snow were irritating the old injury in her foot, so she was limping just slightly. She would try not to spend too much time here to avoid long-term irritation. The limp tired her out a bit more quickly than normal, so her breathing was a little heavier, but she was far from exhausted.
As she neared the top, Myu heard the distinct sound of a wolf sneezing. Though she had yet to top a rise to see the wolf, Myu knew that it was there. She pressed on, trying to top the rise before the wolf went on its way. When she finally did top the rise she could indeed see the wolf, but it had begun to move on towards a distant ridge. Myu watched as she stopped there and looked out over the land for a moment before lying down in the snow. Rather than approaching, Myu sat back on her haunches and lifted her head to the sky. She let out a quick howl of greeting and questioning, to let the stranger know that she was watching. As her howl came to an end and the last echoes died off, she pricked her ears for a response, not sure if she would receive a response. She waited, and if she heard nothing then she would attempt to approach this wolf.

Once again trapped in the familiar meadow that always occupied her dreams, Braelyn sat calmly in the grass, lonely, and allowed the breeze to ruffle her fur. She hated this dream at this point because there was nothing that ever changed. Everything was always the same and it irritated her greatly. She stared with hard amber eyes at the never ending plains of golden hills and colorful flowers dotting them. She was glad that she lived in Glacier Pack territory, it was much colder and full of snow. She wasn't haunted by the image of her dream, for she was in a place that didn't hold a single resemblance to this place.
She sighed, bored out of her mind and knowing that she wouldn't escape it until her body decided to wake up. When she thought she'd be stuck there for hours on end with nothing to do, Braelyn swore she heard that incessant buzzing again, the one that interrupted the last dream she had. But, this time, it wasn't Skolpadda, nor was it necessarily a voice speaking. It was more of a constant tone that didn't change, but had a specific ring to it. Within the matter of an instant, she was snapped from her dream, only to catch the ends of a howl in her shredded ears.
Braelyn didn't recognize the wolf when she looked at it from a distance, but the wolf was smaller than her, so she assumed it was a female. Slightly irritated about her afternoon nap being disturbed, she got to her feet and trudged through the snow towards the wolf. She put down her force field, confident she could win in a fight against her company. It was obvious to Braelyn, even from the distance, that she was much bigger than her. As she approached, she recognized the wolf as a definite female and smaller than her, but also with the same scent as Skoldpadda. She was worried for a moment that she would have to fight a stranger, but there wasn't a need for worry. This wolf was most likely in the same pack as her.
Braelyn didn't offer a smile, as it wasn't like her. Instead, her calm and quiet voice drifted as she spoke, "Forgive me. I do not have the greatest of hearing, as my ears are almost no longer in existence." She wiggled her torn ears slightly for a little effect. "I had to get closer in order to hear you. I recognize you scent to be like that of my alpha's. It seems you are in the Glacier Pack as well." She waited a moment, pondering what else she could have missed. It came to her in an instant: her introduction. "Where are my manners? My name is Braelyn, I'm a warrior of Glacier Pack." Braelyn dipped her head to show her respect for the female, then lifted her gaze to meet hers and waited patiently for an answer.

So, she was dealing with another female, and not a male. For some reason she wasn't surprised; she seemed to meet more females than males around here. Skoldpadda had been the second male that she could remember.
Though her position in the pack was not yet set, Myu kept her head and tail rather high. This stranger was obviously new around here if she did not know who Myu was, and Myu had lived here even longer than the alpha. Her loyalty deserved a certain amount of respect in her eyes. She was older than everyone else here, too, and she had earned her scars. Her intelligence and ferocity where what had gotten her this far in life. That demanded a certain amount of respect, no matter what position she held.
As the stranger approached, Myu's eyes sharpened. Her mood was good enough, but she was always sharp. She spoke her mind and did not dull her words for anyone, except those that she truly respected, and this stranger did not sit with those that she held respect for. When the wolf was close Myu could see that they were the same height, though the female was obviously about ten pounds heavier. It wasn't much of a difference, and Myu had fought wolves larger than this one. Her old injury was caused by her first alpha, whom she had fought with before joining his pack and becoming a valued member. Four or five packs later, here she was, confronting a stranger on the land that she had come to call home.
As the female came closer still, Myu could smell the mark of the pack upon her and knew for sure that she must be a new member, recently accepted by Skoldpadda. Myu herself had not had to go through the acceptance process, having already been living here when Skoldpadda had come to claim the land. When the stranger came to a stop and spoke, Myu did not offer a smile or even a friendly gesture. Her expression was not unfriendly, but it was not welcoming either. Despite that, she heard the stranger out, not sure what to think of her just yet. Myu could be a bitch, and this would probably be one of those times, but she didn't harbor ill will towards everyone that she met. She saved her hatred and anger for the one that she had been hunting for years.
When she answered Braelyn, Myu's voice was the same as her expression; neither friendly nor hostile, though perhaps harsh. "I can see that," she said, her only comment about the female's ears. "I am indeed a part of Glacier pack. I have been living here throughout the reigns of the last three alphas that have come here. I was the beta for the previous alpha. I am under consideration as the beta for Skoldpadda. I hold a certain amount of seniority around here, being the oldest member as well as having lived here the longest." Myu's voice was strong and unwavering, clearly speaking dominance, even if it were questionable as to whether or not she had a claim to that dominance yet. "When I saw you I thought you might be a trespasser, so I followed you. I am glad to find that I was wrong."

What was left of Braelyn's ears seemed to flatten themselves against her head, giving her the appearance of having none at all. From what she could tell, the female's tone obviously revealed the dominance she felt because of her previous rank. It was understandable, considering her situation, and the warrior didn't care much for the slight attitude this wolf was showing her. Things so simple never bothered Braelyn, her brother had tended to be worse, as noisy and irritating as he could be at some points. She held her ground and kept her expression straight, debating what it was that she would say next, in such a way as to not offend her.
Beta? It sounded as if she would be a good wolf for the position, for Braelyn began thinking of how she was acting now. Her approach towards others was definitely fitting to one that would be in a beta's position. She didn't smile nor laugh, attempting to match the stranger's approach to the conversation. However, she wasn't quite like that. Her voice was still quiet, unusual to any other, but normal for her. "You have experienced much more than I have, but I will not judge you on such. It is not in anyone's right to judge another." She paused, searching for the next words to come from her mouth. "Even though I know not of your name, should you become beta, I will respect Skoldpadda's decision to do so, and I shall respect you the same as I would any higher ranking wolf."
Braelyn nodded to herself, satisfied with her decision, her choice in words. She certainly hoped she would not have a problem on her hands. Even though this female was in the same pack, it certainly didn't mean she would not have problems with her. She remembered clearly when her former pack began breaking up, killing one another and diminishing slowly out of existence until her and her brother were the only ones left. Then, Canyon parted ways with her, so it was a constant reminder. It always hung in her mind that anything could go wrong, even withing the strongest trusses of any pack. It was the circle of life, nature. Nothing was there to stop it.
She snapped herself silently out of her daydream and lifted her amber gaze back to the female's. She didn't want to disrespect her. It would be wrong, considering she was in the run to be the beta. To Braelyn, she seemed to be a decent wolf, and it would be a shame should Skoldpadda not choose to make her the beta. Even thought it was faint, there was a small feeling in her chest that this wolf could do some good to the pack. Whether it was the wolf's experience or age, Braelyn cared not, but the feeling was still there, lingering.

As she had already determined that this wolf was not a threat to the pack but was instead a member, Myu was interested in testing her. If she could illicit a reaction from Braelyn through her harsh attitude, then the female would fail the test. But if she handled it correctly then she would earn a little bit of respect from Myu.
At first, with the flattening of the ears, Myu believed that the female would fail the test. But she did not react more than that, and the words that she spoke had obviously been chosen carefully. Myu took little interest in what she had said, but she put the matter to rest. The female had passed her test, and now it was time to move on and be more accepting of her new pack mate. Though her posture and her attitude did not seem to relax much, her next words were proof that she had accepted Braelyn. Accepted her to a point, that is.
Myu gave one short nod of her head and then turned away from the female. “I don’t know about you,” she said, her voice loud so that it would reach behind her and the semi-deaf female would be able to hear her. “But I, for one, am both cold and hungry.” She walked a few steps, then turned to look at the female. “I am going to hunt. If you’d like to join me then you may. But we won’t find anything here, and the snow is bothering my leg.” She watched the female for another moment, not sure if she would receive a response, then turned and began to walk down the slope. As if to prove her statement about her leg, she nearly lost her footing when a sharp pain shot through the paw that never had really healed correctly. But she did not fall and she continued down the slope at an easy pace, only a slight limp to show that anything was even remotely wrong.

Braelyn watched her reaction carefully, wondering curiously why she had nodded when she was finished speaking to her. It was an interesting thing and the warrior wished to know about it, but she dared not ask, for it was not her business to do so. She was not one to interfere in the lives or the qualities of others, she let them be who they wanted to be, and she was fine with such a decision. Personalities varied greatly, but that was the only thing that made the lives of the wolves in the lands interesting. Life would be boring if everyone were the same through and through. She gave herself a small smile, immediately thinking of Canyon.
Her attention was redirected when she began to speak again, something of hunting and whether or not she wished to join her. Braelyn frowned, hunting was not an ability of hers. She had been raised as a hunter at first, but had to switch to being raised a fighter when she prevented the fox from killing her brother and got her ears destroyed in the process. It was very difficult to hunt if one could not hear the prey, as they were quiet because they knew they were being hunted. Braelyn was useless for such an activity, and she would tell the female of such, but she certainly had nothing better to do and decided to go along with her.
Braelyn's heart jumped slightly when she watched her walk away and nearly stumble, losing her balance ever so slightly. She remembered how the female mentioned the snow was bothering her leg, so she assumed the old girl must have had an old injury in her leg somehow. She wondered what from, but didn't bother to ask. She only loped after her easily, coming to her side as she walked. "Be careful, please. I do not mean to be intrusive, but...I do not wish to see a packmate in pain." She glanced at her a little, hoping she hadn't offended her. "Also, I will accompany you to hunt, but I am useless for such an activity. I was raised a hunter at first, then there was an...incident...and I had to be retrained as a fighter. I can try to help you hunt, but I'm sure I'll only be a burden..."
Braelyn didn't stray too closely to her, staying a respectable distance, but kept her eye on her in case she stumbled again. It was then, as she stared at the wolf, that she was unaware of an important thing most companions share, especially when in a pack. Her voice was quiet as it rang out a small bit, "Excuse me, but...what is your name? I do not believe I asked..." She shyly watched her, waiting for her response, if she were to receive one.
OOC: That's all right! Happens to me sometimes, too. I'll post a reply, meaning to be one character, when I've accidentally signed on as another...^^;;

Occasionally something happened and she would nearly fall down and then everything would be alright again. She was so used to it that she took it all in stride and treated it like it was completely normal. For her it was normal. She had lived with this injury for many years. It wasn’t going anywhere, so it was high time that she learn to live with it. If others saw her limping they would often try to help her. Usually her first reaction was to brush them off. Only occasionally did she get snappy with someone who asked if she was okay.
“Thanks for the concern, but it’s not necessary,” Myu responded, only a small amount of irritation in her voice. “I have dealt with this injury for long enough. Nothing will come of it being a little sore.” She continued down the hill, the female at her side. The snow down in the valleys was gone, and that was where she was headed. Only here by the glaciers, where it seemed to be cold for most of the year, did the snow longer for very long. Myu waited until she was past a small patch of ice before she continued to answer the female.
“Don’t you worry about your hunting skills,” Myu answered, brushing off her companion’s disability. “I’m hardly capable of going after big game, so we won’t be doing any real hunting. Besides, the tracking part is the most fun, and that’s all site and smell.” Myu was a powerful tracker. She had been tracking the same wolf for year and, though she often hallucinated the signs of that particular wolf, she was an excellent tracker. Not that it did her any good for the most part. It allowed her to locate prey, but she wasn’t capable of hunting the big stuff.
“Are you capable of being silent and pouncing? If so, you should be fine hunting rabbits. We’ve got quite a few of them in the valleys. And I can be your ears. You just have to stay quiet.” By this time they were nearing the foot of the glacier and they were past the snowline. The ground was damp, but the cold on the ground was gone and Myu’s foot was already feeling better. “As for my name,” Myu said, reminded that she had forgotten to give it before, though she had meant to. “You can call me Myu.”

Braelyn trekked through the snow with ease, having no issues getting past it with her large paws. Even though she was concerned for the female, she made no more comment on it, for she seemed irritated enough. She didn't mean to irritate her, but she honestly didn't like seeing others she was close to in pain. It was a hard thing for her to handle, but it was completely different when it was someone who was trying to cause harm to those she was close to. The world was strange, with everyone having preferences and all. Sometimes, Braelyn wondered if everyone could live in peace without even the simplest of arguments in their lives. She highly doubted such a thing would ever occur, but it was an interesting idea.
She wondered how she would do attempting to hunt rabbits, if all it required of her was to sit still and be quiet. Frankly, that was often something she was good at, as it was not as though she ever did much else. With her bad hearing, she was required by herself to remain quiet all the time just so she could hear others. She wondered if she could manage to catch anything, as it had been over three years since she last hunted. Since she lost most of her hearing, the food was always brought to her and she was always trained to fight. No one allowed her to do anything else but learn to fight, as she was deemed useless for hunting by her own pack. She was curious, not to try, but if the wolf could teach her how to catch something, though she doubted she could catch a rabbit if it sat in her paws and waited to be killed.
Braelyn was bulk muscle, not lean muscle. If they were to go after any big game or rabbits for that matter, she wouldn't be fast enough to catch up to them. She was meant for fighting, not for speed, a disadvantage in a way. Thankfully, the big game was out of the picture, so all she had to do was sit still and hope a rabbit would come close enough for her to kill. It had been a really long time since she killed something for food, but she would have to try at this point. When her name reached her shredded ears, Braelyn gave an acknowledging nod. Myu. She liked it. It was interesting, certainly not one she had heard before. Then again, that's what everyone she met said about her name. Braelyn. She had to admit that was a weird one, but any word will be weird if you say it too many times.
Being occupied with the small conversation at hand, Braelyn hadn't realized they left the glacier and were now on normal grounds. She pawed lightly at the grass, it was cold and damp, but pleasurable. Her paws were beginning to thaw out, as well as her nose and fur. It felt nice, and she began wondering why she had gone up to the glacier in the first place, but remembered that she had wanted to scout the territory for the sake of being a good warrior, just so she could know where everything was. She glanced at Myu, waiting for further instruction, then gazed past her at the beauty of the lands.

If they were hunting rabbits then they would need two things; silence, and a downwind position. If they wanted the rabbits to walk right up to them, they would have to be invisible to the senses. As long as they stayed within the bushes, did not make a sound, and stayed downwind of their prey, all would go well for the two unlikely hunters. But the pack was small right now and there were few, if any, hunters to bring in game for those who did not hunt. Myu often went after smaller game to make certain that she was staying well fed. In some ways, it was much like the life of a loner, but she was used to small packs. And besides, she was certain the pack would gain new members soon enough. They just had to wait for that day to come.
When Myu had decided which way the air was moving, she turned to face it. She had the good fortune of knowing where a rabbit warren was, and so she knew exactly where she was going. She headed into the wind, walking a short ways until she came to a small stream that was created by runoff from the Glacier. The warren was on the other side of the stream, and Myu knew exactly where to cross in order to reach the warren. She traveled a little ways down the stream, not listening much to hear if Braelyn was following. When she found the crossing – marked by a large rock on the edge of the stream – she simply stepped into the water and waded across. The water was not deep, and did not even reach halfway up her legs.
On the other side she stopped, took a quick look behind her to see if Braelyn was following, and then headed in a straight line into the very light breeze that told her they were downwind of the warren. It was not far, and she soon began to test the air for signs of close rabbits. There didn’t seem to be any that had strayed too far from the warren, however, and it was not until she was very close that she got the first signs of the rabbits in the wind. She stopped and took a seat, then turned to speak to Braelyn. “If you can stay silent while you move, then I can get you close enough to see the rabbits. We’re downwind, so they won’t smell us, and if they can’t hear us or see us, chances are one or two will come close enough to pounce on. Hopefully two, because one might not be big enough for two wolves.” She said the last bit with a smile, trying to be friendly, though sometimes that attempt completely failed. “Just crouch down behind the bushes and adjust yourself until you can see into the clearing where the warren is. There should be a couple rabbits out right now, so you should see them, but don’t go for them until they are only a couple feet away from where you are hiding.”

Braelyn watched as Myu moved down the stream some and entered the water in a shallower place. It barely passed her knees and she made it through easily, but the silver furred warrior didn't truly feel the need to move to a shallower part of the stream. She simply set her paws in the water where she stood, her 42 inch frame keeping her head well above the surface. It came to the tops of her legs and didn't go past that as she waded across. She dragged her body out of the water and gave herself a harsh shake, scattering the water droplets from her fur.
Myu glanced at her and continued walking, only making sure she was following. She certainly was, as she wasn't going to just leave the old wolf without notice. It would not only be rude, but...well, it was most likely only be rude on her part. Her torn ears pricked up as she spoke to her and she trotted after, making sure she was listening. Her bulky frame began making a little too much noise and she noticed it, so she attempted to silence her footsteps. Or at least quiet them down the best she could.
Braelyn nodded lightly, staying silent as directed, wanting to draw in as much information as she could. There were only so many things she could do, and hunting didn't happen to be one of them. However, her smelling was just fine and it wasn't long before she caught the very strong scent of rabbit. She remembered the scent well, all of it flooding back to her. She remembered suddenly how to hunt, the instincts returning to her mindset, and her form immediately began crouching down towards the ground. The bushes were close, and she took Myu's words into creation.
Her paws glided over the ground and she crouched lower to the floor, laying once she reached the safety of the brush. She peered closer with her amber eyes, indeed spotting the rabbits there. The white fur would be one to blend with the snow, but they weren't close enough to the glacier for the rabbits of the warren to hide. There were two of them and her mouth watered at the smell, as well at the sight of them. Her tail began wagging lightly, not enough to make noise, but it said she was happy, excited. She glanced at Myu, whispering, "Look, look! Rabbits!" She turned back around and suddenly felt embarrassed for her act, as it was almost like that of a pup.

Braelyn’s excitement was catching for Myu, and she felt her own energy start to pick up. It was hard to patiently wait for the rabbits to come closer when she felt so impatient all of a sudden. Still, she forced herself to sit still and silent, waiting for her unsuspecting prey to move closer. It took a few minutes – the rabbits were grazing and therefore moving very slowly. Myu was barely able to contain herself. She hadn’t been on a hunt with another wolf in ages, and the experience was wonderful. She also hadn’t liked another wolf in a very long time, and she found herself growing attached to Braelyn already.
When the rabbits were only a mere two or three feet away from where she and Braelyn were hiding, Myu turned to look at her companion, but said nothing. She simply motioned with her head that it was time. Fairly certain that Braelyn would understand, Myu turned back towards her quarry and began to tense her muscles in preparation for the pounce she was about to make. She waited only a moment longer, and then she launched herself at the rabbit that was closest to her, hoping that Braelyn was doing the same at nearly the same time. If she was fast enough, the Braelyn would have no trouble catching the second rabbit.
Myu’s pounce landed her right on top of her prey before it had a chance to react. She felt it struggle for a moment beneath her paws and, doubting her ability to keep it trapped for very long, she quickly broke its neck with her jaws. She felt it stop struggling almost immediately, and she sensed that other rabbits in the area were running for cover. Knowing that her prey was caught, she looked up to see if Braelyn had been successful.
ooc;; sorry for the wait. i've been having some problems at home that have been conflicting with my ability to write. that's why it might be a bit on the short side.

Braelyn's amber gold eyes it up as the rabbits became closer and closer to where they sat, the scent getting stronger and stronger with it. She placed her head on the ground and pricked her torn ears forward, making sure she kept close tabs on the white balls of fur that were inching closer to their doom. She watched as they nibbled at the grass, and she had the major urge to leap out at them and kill them now, but she hadn't hunted in four years and she was clueless about what to do at the moment. She would wait for Myu's cue to move, her instruction to make the kill. Braelyn glanced over at her once and managed to somewhat calm her tail down, stopping it from wagging and making too much noise. She took the head motion she gave her as a signal that it was all right to pounce. Braelyn's heart beat rapidly in her chest, fluttering against her ribcage like a trapped bird. Here it was before her, the moment of truth. She wondered as she prepared to leap if she was still useful as a hunter or not, but there was really no reason to not try. Her muscles coiled and uncoiled like springs, propelling her from her hiding place in the bushes. Her massive paws dug into the ground and her forepaws extended, tapping the small white creature beneath them. Her first instinct came to her and her jaws parted, revealing her shining white teeth. She snapped the rabbit's neck, aware of all others retreating. She glanced over at Myu, who was successful in her catch. That wasn't a surprise to her, for it was obvious the female had had a lot more experience doing this that she did. It was only natural that she be one to catch the prey without flaw. Braelyn laid on the ground the rabbit between her paws, a huge smile having broken out on her face and her eyes glittering with pride. It had been too long since she had last done this and the thrill was overwhelming, the adrenaline rushing through her veins. Her tail waved on the ground uncontrollably. Though she didn't say a word, Braelyn was clearly proud and happy of her accomplishment. OOC: It's all good. No big deal. This would be a short post on my end, I've got finals this week.

It was harder for wolves to pounce, but she had figured that her new friend would benefit the most from this method of hunting, as long as she was careful to stay silent. It seemed that she had been right, as Braelyn had caught her target and seemed quite proud of herself. Myu couldn’t help but smile a little, despite the fact that she was a gruff old thing. “You did good,” she told Braelyn. Her interaction with this wolf made her remember her sons and the times that they had spent together, though Braelyn was older than they would have been, as they had been much younger when they had left.
For a moment, sadness crossed Myu’s face as she remembered the family that she had once had. It had been so long ago, but she could still remember it vividly if she tried. She missed her mate and her children. If her mate had not died then she would not be here now, in this land. She never would have left her first home and never would have met Feroz, Cyrus, Gyro, or Maya from her first pack. She never would have gone on a mad hunt to kill Maya, and never would have ended up here were she met Cayden and Avril and now Skoldpadda and Braelyn. She wasn’t sure if she would give all of what she had now up just to be with her mate and her children again. Sometimes she thought about what it would be like to die and go to live with her mate wherever he was. But those thoughts were never serious, and she banished them now. The sadness left her face within moments and she looked over to Braelyn once more.
The rest of the rabbits had fled to their burrows at the first sight of the wolves, but the two the wolves had killed had not even known what hit them. Myu looked down at her clean kill, then glanced at Braelyn’s. “We should move,” she decided. If they had just killed a stray rabbit, it wouldn’t be so bad. But eating their kills here would disturb the life of the rabbits that lived her, and Myu did not want to risk destroying the warren. She lifted her rabbit in her jaws and trotted into the underbrush, sure that Braelyn would follow. She stopped at the edge of the stream she had crossed and set the rabbit on the ground. It was skinnier, since winter was only just gone, but it would satisfy her until she was able to get another meal. She did not wait for Braelyn, and lowered her head to take a bite out of the still-warm flesh of the rabbit.
ooc;; Once again, sorry for the wait. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long in the future.

text - "speaking" - thoughts
Braelyn felt a pup side emerge in her as she was praised by the older wolf, her tail beginning to wag excessively against the ground, brushing softly against the grass. It had been a long time since she had hunted and managed to catch something, as she often scavenged for things that were already dead in the year she had traveled alone. The other times she had been with Canyon, her brother, who had caught things for her. Between the two of them, he was the hunter and she was the fighter, the one to always keep him and get him out of trouble. Her demeanor saddened some when her mind crossed on him, the image of his earth-colored fur and his river blue eyes lingering her head. She missed him dearly and wished to find him, to see him again. However, it was a lost hope, especially with her hearing disability.
It took a moment to notice that Myu had gone off, and that she had said something. Trapped in her thoughts at the moment of her words, Braelyn had completely missed what it was she had said and she just decided to get up, follow her to wherever it was that she had gone. She did so, lifting her massive body up and grasping the thin rabbit by its ears. She trotted out of the rabbits' warren and through the bushes, amber eyes scanning for the female. Her shredded ears pricked up towards the direction she had gone, searching for any sounds that might end up being made by her, though it was rather useless because of her bad hearing. She would just have to look for her, as the smell of the rabbit was blocking her sense of smell, keeping her from picking up the scent of her comrade.
Braelyn soon spotted her by the river and trotted faster over to her, ready to join her in the meal, the first one she had managed to catch herself for the first time in a long time. She approached her and stepped away a mere foot, laying her body on the cool ground once again, feeling the grasses squish beneath her weight. She placed the rabbit in front of her and glanced at Myu, watching as she took a bite of her kill. Braelyn looked back to her rabbit, deciding it would probably be best for her to eat it instead of waste it. She lowered her head and opened her jaws, digging her fangs into her still warm kill. She stripped away the fur and bit at it hungrily, swallowing what meat the rabbit had to offer her. She quickly realized how diminished her energy was and how much her body needed the refreshment.
